Dr. Saviour Alphonsus Umoren

Dr. Saviour Umoren is a Research Scientist and Associate Professor at the Center of Research Excellence in Corrosion (CoRE-C) of the Research Institute, King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM), Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. He obtained Ph.D. in Polymer Science from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Nigeria in 2008. He was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at State Key Laboratory for Corrosion and Protection, Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shenyang, China courtesy of TWAS – CAS Postdoctoral Research Fellowship award from May 2009 – April 2010 and a visiting researcher at Research Institute of Theoretical and Applied Physical Chemistry (INIFTA), La Plata, Argentina courtesy of TWAS – UNESCO Associateship appointment. Dr. Umoren has been a Lecturer and Researcher for 14 years at the Department of Chemistry, University of Uyo, Nigeria where he rose through the ranks to become an Associate Professor in 2011. He has served as the Head of Department of Chemistry, University of Uyo, Nigeria for two years. Dr. Umoren has authored/co-authored over 120 papers in refereed journals and conference proceedings and 4 book chapters. His works have been cited 4728 times based on Google Scholar Citation Reports with h-index of 41. He is a member of the Editorial Board of ten international journals and has been a reviewer to over 80 international reputable journals. He has also served as a reviewer of research proposals for a number of funding agencies including National Research Foundation (NRF) of South Africa, National Science Centre, Poland, and American Chemical Society (ACS) Petroleum Research Fund (PRF) amongst others.
